San Francisco Fishing Fleet Fire Recovery

US fisherman livelihood was already in danger before COVID due to dependence on foreign caught cheap imports and strict environmental requirements that the fleet was forced to bear the cost. Which is why many of them only carried liability insurance, they couldn’t afford more. After COVID, the fleet tied up because trip costs were exceeding catch value. Then pier 45 burned to the ground. 

If every resident put in a dollar, they might be on their way to recovery. It doesn’t matter rather or not people eat seafood, our cultural heritage is on the line, and they can’t continue to wait for relief from the government that has not and perhaps will not come.
